Search 14.2M+ federal marks from the USPTO register and see the ones that match your name. Conflicts, never an availability verdict.
This is a similarity search of the federal register, not legal advice and not a legal clearance. For anything you plan to rely on, talk to a trademark attorney. Look up any serial number at USPTO TSDR
Before you commit to a business name, it is worth knowing whether someone already holds a federal trademark that looks like it. We search the USPTO register for marks similar to your name and show you what we find, so you see the conflicts before you file rather than after.
A match is not a refusal and no match is not a clearance. Whether two marks actually conflict turns on the goods, the channels and the likelihood of confusion, which is a judgment a register lookup cannot make for you.

Run this exact checkResults narrow as you type. No account, no card, nothing to dismiss first.
We rank what comes back by how close each mark is to your name, closest first, so the ones worth a second look are at the top.
Every match carries its serial number and a direct link to that case in USPTO TSDR, which is the authority. Ours is a copy; theirs is the record.
The authority for any mark is the USPTO. TSDR holds the status and document history for a serial number, and their own search is the official way to search the register.

We hold our own indexed copy of the federal register, so a search is a query against our own database rather than a round trip to someone else. That is why matches come back as you type instead of after a form submit.
The copy is updated every day from the USPTO daily feed of register changes. It is a copy, so for anything you plan to act on, open the USPTO record itself.
Every result carries a status. We derive it ourselves from the status code on the USPTO record, so the code is theirs and the plain-English label is ours.
The registration is on the register and in force. This is the kind of match worth taking seriously, because the owner has rights they can assert now.
An application is filed and still working through the USPTO, including marks in opposition proceedings. Nothing is settled yet, and a pending mark ahead of you in line can still become a problem later.
The register carries a status we could not confidently place, so we say so rather than guess. Treat it as a match you need to open and read yourself.
Dead marks, meaning abandoned, cancelled or expired registrations, are left out of results entirely. That keeps the list to marks that can still matter, and it does mean what you see is not the complete register.

The USPTO is the official source and the only one of these that IS the record. We are a faster way to look, not a replacement for it.
The same search also checks state business registrations, domain extensions and social handles, so you can see the whole picture of a name in one pass instead of four separate tools.
Run the full checkIt is a look through the federal trademark register for marks similar to a name you are considering. It tells you who is already there, so you can weigh the risk before you spend money on a name.
As conflicts to consider, not as a verdict. We rank matches by how close they are to your name, closest first. A close match on similar goods is worth taking seriously; a close match in an unrelated industry may not matter at all.
No. We do not tell you whether a name is registrable, because the register alone cannot answer that. Whether a conflict is real depends on the goods, the market and the likelihood of confusion, which is an attorney judgment.
Yes. No account, no card, no sign-up. We may earn a referral commission if you form your business through a partner link, which is how the tool stays free. Nothing on the trademark side is paid or upsold.
We hold our own copy of the federal register and update it every day from the USPTO daily feed of register changes. Because it is a copy rather than the live system, open the USPTO record before you act on anything.
Two ways at once. We look for an exact match on the normalized name, and we look for close matches using fuzzy text similarity across the whole name and across its individual words. There is no filter by owner or by class; those are shown on each result rather than searched on.
International classes, the categories the USPTO uses to group the goods and services a mark covers. Two identical names in unrelated classes may coexist; two similar names in the same class are the case to look at hardest.
No. We search the text of a mark, so this finds word marks and the wording inside other marks. A purely graphic logo with no text is not something this search can find.
No. Abandoned, cancelled and expired registrations are excluded, so what you see are marks that can still matter. It also means the results are not the complete register, and a dead mark you are curious about is best looked up at the USPTO directly.
No. This is a similarity search of the federal register, not legal advice and not a legal clearance. The USPTO record for any serial number is available in TSDR, and for anything you plan to rely on, talk to a trademark attorney.
